Just for the Health of It
About Just for the Health of it
The title of our month marketing focus and blog series is, “Just for the Health of it”. An obvious play on the idiom expressing a care-free wish to do something for no particular reason, we’re suggesting that you should check us out, not on a whim, but an intent to focus on healthy living.
George Dalhamer, the long-time owner and founder of HotSpring of Dayton chose this as our slogan to represent our heightened focus on the well-being of current and potential customers. HotSpring Spa- Just for the Health of it!
January 11, 2018 – Hi, I’m Peter with Hot Spring Spas. I’m the Marketing Guru at Hot Spring Dayton and this year we want to focus on the wonderful health benefits of all that we have to offer here. HotSpring of Dayton is the proud carrier of brands such as HotSpring (Hot Tubs), Finnleo (Saunas), and Endless Pools. There are many aspects of hydrotherapy, sauna-therapy, and aerobic swimming that can greatly improve and support a healthy body. Hot tubs have long been known for socializing and relaxing, and these are still absolutely true, but many people are realizing a third reason, wellness benefits.
Each month we will focus on a health-related topic, whether it be an illness or ailment or region of the body. We will convey this message through our advertising and marketing material that month. We will be writing up 1-2 blog posts per month to educate you and help you understand why HotSpring of Dayton’s new motto is: “Just for the Health of it”.
Here’s a preview of the focus of each month and a little background.
January
General Health
Since this month is the kick-off to HSD’s 2-18 Health Focus, we’re going to focus on general wellbeing this new year. We’ll share the myriad of benefits that hot tubs and saunas provide that’ll help you live a healthier 2018!
February
Heart
This month we’ll be focusing on the benefits that spas and saunas have for cardiovascular health as well as safety tips and answers clearing up hot tub misconceptions for those with heart concerns. National Heart Month takes place in February.
March
Sleep
1/3 Americans don’t get enough sleep. There are many factors contributing to this, but HotSpring of Dayton thinks we can help. This month we’re going to ‘wake up’ the public about the sleep-inducing benefits that those with a daily spa and sauna routine report. March is also National Sleep Awareness Month.
April
Stress
Even more than 1/3 Americans experience extreme stress and anxiety! One of the biggest and most well-known benefits of spas and saunas are their relaxing properties. This has been well understood even before the scientific approach. HSD wants to help you de-stress every time you use one of our amazing spas or saunas. I will also explain why the soak or sweat de-stress you, biologically. April is National Stress Awareness Month.
May
Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder of the muscular-skeletal structure. For those who didn’t know, there is no cure, but there is a multitude of treatments that make life tolerable and greatly reduce the pain. Namely, hydrotherapy is one of the most effective treatments to manage daily FM symptoms. We want all sufferers of FM to learn about how a HotSpring spa can greatly improve their quality of life. May is National Fibromyalgia Awareness Month.
June
Men
While Hot Tubs affect men and women almost the same, it’s Father’s Day this month and we want to focus on the men’s health issues and potential benefits of spas and saunas could offer the men in our community. June is also National Men’s Health Month.
July
Social
Bear with me on this one. Social Health seems like a strange health aspect to tackle relating the benefits of our products, but this is an important one. July is a very exciting time with the 4th and with the typically great weather (hopefully), people love to get together. We want to take a moment to discuss how important healthy social relationships are to overall wellbeing and how for centuries, hot tubs and saunas have fostered that social health and will continue to do so at HotSpring of Dayton.
August
Brain
This month will focus on an under-examined aspect of our health—The Brain. We’ll highlight how hot tubs increase the cognitive function of the brain due to increased blood flow, how hydrotherapy can aid recovery of traumatic head injuries, and how regular sauna use has been found to drastically reduce the odds of developing degenerative brain diseases.
September
Arthritis
As we age, our joints lose some of the cartilage around them and that results in joint pain. The best thing that one can do We want to take this month to focus on how the light low-pressure exercise of Endless Pools and the heat of hydrotherapy and sauna-therapy can greatly reduce the pain that rheumatism causes. September is Rheumatic Disease Awareness Month, which includes arthritis and many similar illnesses affecting the joints.
October
Women
While Hot Tubs affect men and women almost the same, everyone knows October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and while we’re all wearing pink, we want to focus on the women’s health issues and potential benefits of spas and saunas could give women in the community.
November
Diabetes
Over 15 million Americans have Diabetes and we’d like to highlight how important regular treatment is before more complications arise. In one recent study, hydrotherapy reduced blood sugar levels and improved sleep patterns to Type II diabetes patients. We are also going to explain why Infrared saunas result in excellent benefits to those with or at risk for Type-2. We also want to educate our audience on concerns that some medical professionals have because safe soaking and sweating is important. November is National Diabetes Awareness Month.
December
Weight Loss
During the holidays, we often have trouble sticking to a diet because of all the parties, family meals, and wonderful treats. To stress how crucial healthy weight loss methods going into the ‘hibernation’ of winter, we’d like to highlight how a simple 20-minute soak or sweat in a spa or sauna respectively can result in a healthy and natural weight management. We’ll include a few testimonials, so you can see how HotSpring Dayton can aid your weight loss journey.
